The program, which discusses women’s rights, health care, education, home economics, parenthood, child health, as well as entertainment, sports and politics, is opens up news focused on women from around the world. Shazia Haya and Aalia Farzan are BBC journalists who moved to the UK after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan. In addition to providing them with a platform to air their views and questions, the new show will also provide content that informs and educates, empowering listeners to make informed decisions and choices. Presented by Shazia Haya in Pashto and Aalia Farzan in Dari, the program targets women and girls – particularly those in rural areas – in Afghanistan and Pakistan. It will be available via FM and shortwave frequencies throughout Afghanistan and will be available on demand via the bbc.com/pashto and bbc.com/persian/afghanistan websites, and the BBC News Pashto and BBC News Dari channels on Facebook.
